Airplane: average occupancy; including arrival and departure as well as taxiing at the airport. No specific arrival and departure times were considered in the calculation of the flight route.

*In local and long-distance DB trains, bahn.business customers travel with 100 % green electricity. Their indirect emissions and their share of diesel emissions from local transport are 100 % compensated.

Travelers in DB Fernverkehr trains use 100% green electricity.

Background information on the CO₂Kompass

The CO₂Kompass calculates carbon dioxide equivalents (CO₂e). The CO₂e value indicates the amount of greenhouse gases emitted when using the respective mode of transport. The value includes carbon dioxide as well as other climate-impacting gases such as methane.The CO₂Kompass is just one of over 150 measures with which Deutsche Bahn is committed to the environment.
